Merrell Frost Glove Winter Snow Boots Review
*I bought these with my own money and Merrell did not pay me to write this review.
Cost: Merrell doesn’t make many barefoot / minimalist shoes anymore so the cost varies depending on where you can find them
Size: I usually wear a 9 or 9.5 and I ordered a size 10 to accommodate thick socks (10 is perfect for me)
Pros:
- Affordable for a minimalist / barefoot snow and winter boot
- Waterproof
- Flat, zero drop and flexible
- The bungee tie at the top of the boots creates a tight fit on my legs and keeps snow out
- The Vibram sole seems like the boots will hold up well after many wears
- These boots are warm and great for Fall and Winter seasons
- Lightweight and easy to pack for traveling
- I’ve thrown these in the washing machine on a gentle cycle and they come out great
Cons:
- The toe box is a bit narrow and wouldn’t work for someone with a wide foot (I can’t wear correct toes in them)
- The Merrell Frost Glove boots become less waterproof over time
- Merrell has discontinued these boots and some of their other barefoot lines and they are hard to find
- The bottom of the shoes don’t allow for excellent traction in icy, winter conditions
